Drums Lesson FAQ
What age can my child start drums?
We accept drum students as young as 4 years old. Young beginners start on practice pads and smaller kits to build coordination and stick control before moving to a full drum set. Our teachers make every lesson fun and age-appropriate.
Do I need a drum kit at home?
A practice pad is a great starting point and costs under $30. For more serious practice, an electronic drum kit with headphones is an excellent, neighbor-friendly option. We can help you choose the right setup for your space and budget.
How much do drum lessons cost?
Drum lessons are $40 per week (30-minute private sessions), billed monthly at $160–$200 depending on weeks in the month. There’s a one-time $60 enrollment fee. We also offer an Academy 30 package at $997 for 30 lessons (a savings of over $200).
How quickly will I see progress?
Most students can hold a steady beat and play along to their first song within 4–6 weeks of consistent practice. After every lesson, your teacher sends a detailed note summarizing what was covered. Every 12 lessons, you’ll receive a progress video showing growth.
Are the drums loud in lessons?
Not at all! Our studios use an immersive headphone system with pro-grade headphones and a mixer. Students hear themselves, the teacher, and backing tracks at a perfectly balanced volume — it’s like playing in a real recording studio, without the noise.
Do you accept Step-Up Scholarships?
Yes! We are a Step-Up Scholarship direct provider. Your scholarship can cover the enrollment fee and weekly drum lessons — making music education completely free for qualifying families.
What if my child misses a lesson?
Cancel 24 hours in advance to reschedule at no charge. Last-minute? Take the lesson online via Zoom with pro cameras and sound. If the student can’t attend at all, the teacher records a short video recap so they don’t fall behind.
What makes your drum lessons different?
Every lesson uses an immersive studio-quality headphone system with pro headphones and mixers. We track progress with lesson notes and videos every 12 sessions. Plus, students get real performance opportunities at recitals, band shows with 600+ audience members, and professionally filmed music videos.
